The main use of Lipitor is to treat high levels of cholesterol. Especially, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved this medication for the following uses:

– Preventing serious heart conditions, such as a stroke, heart attack, coronary artery disease, or peripheral vascular disease

– Lowering the risk of angina

– Using for some forms of heart surgery in people with certain risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes, aging, being male, high blood pressure, smoking, and a family history of heart disease
