10 Home Remedies for Allergies

Antihistamines

Antihistamines are one of the most common remedies for allergies. Basically, there are three options that you can choose from to deal with specific forms of allergies. These include:

– Oral antihistamines
Oral antihistamines could improve itchy eyes, swelling, hives, watery eyes, or drippy nose. Some options could make you feel sleepy, so avoid driving after taking them. Some common products include cetirizine, desloratadine, levocetirizine, fexofenadine, loratadine, and diphenhydramine.

– Nasal spray antihistamines
These include azelastine and olopatadine. They would reduce postnasal drip, stuffy sinuses, sneezing, and improve a drippy or itchy nose.

– Eye drop antihistamines
They help soothe swollen, red, or itchy eyes. These include azelastine, ketotifen, olopatadine, emedastine, and pheniramine.[3]
