Surgery is the best treatment for people with Tetralogy of Fallot. Children should receive corrective surgery during their first year, often between 3 and 6 months of age. The process helps close the ventricular septal defect and relieve the block of the pulmonary artery. As a result, blood flow would be returned to the normal condition. In older people, this treatment is also suggested. However, the risk can be higher than in children. [8]
