EGFR-Positive Lung Cancer Diagnosis
All people who get a diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer, particularly the subtype adenocarcinoma, are often assessed for EGFR mutations. A doctor may do gene testing to look for the presence of this genetic mutation. During the procedure, they need to implement a lung biopsy to take a tissue sample for further test in the lab. The doctor will analyze the tumor’s DNA to find out whether it has EGFR gene mutations. A liquid biopsy, which is a special blood test, can also be used to look for the mutations. [7]
