What is a Bruising?

Symptoms of Bruising

Symptoms of bruising can vary a lot, depending on the underlying cause. One of the earliest signs is usually discoloration of the skin. In most cases, the affected area might turn into blue and black. Some other possible colors include brown, purple, green, red, and yellow, which mostly happens when the bruises heal. You would also have tenderness and pain in the bruised areas. These problems tend to improve gradually until the bruises heal. In more severe cases, there might be some serious symptoms, such as worsened pain, inflammation, and bleeding. Blue bruises may indicate a possible blood clot or other conditions that require medical attention. [4]
