Is Eczema a Sign of a Weak Immune System?

What Is Eczema?

Eczema is an umbrella term for a group of disorders that leads to inflamed or itchy rashes on the skin. These include stasis dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, neurodermatitis, nummular eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and dyshidrotic eczema. The patches caused by eczema would appear gray, purple, or brown in people with dark skin, and red in those with light skin. It is prevalent in children, but people of any age groups can be affected. Most forms of eczema seem to has some connections to the immune system, but scientific evidence is still limited. The next section will help you learn more about these links. [1]
