The excretory system serves the following main functions:
– Removing waste products, such as chemical products, uric acid ammonia, and urea, from the body in form of urine.
– Maintaining the balance of electrolytes in the body.
– Ensuring the osmotic level of plasma and blood.
– Aiding in the metabolisms of certain drugs and medications that cannot be metabolized by the liver. [8]
