Other Organs in the Excretory System
In addition to these organs mentioned above, the excretory system consists of the following parts, which also play a key role in the excretion:
– Lungs
The lungs are the main respiratory organs. The main roles of these parts are to take in oxygen and eliminate carbon dioxide. However, they also remove water during this procedure through vaporization.
– Skin
The skin is known as the largest organ in the human body. The main function of this part is to protect other parts of the body against foreign components. What’s more, it can excrete sweat to remove wastes.
– Liver
The liver plays a very important part in eliminating waste out of the human body. Indeed, it is basically the first line of defense against drugs, alcohol, fats, and hormones. While the kidneys can remove some drugs, most of the metabolism takes place in the liver. Also, this organ removes cholesterol and excess fats to maintain your hearth and overall health.
