Anemia
Over time, the polyps in your colon would bleed slowly. This depletes iron in the body and increases the risk of developing anemia or iron deficiency. This condition leads to a lack of red blood cells in the body. As a result, blood cannot transport oxygen and nutrients to other body parts. Some typical symptoms include fainting, light-headedness, shortness of breath, pale skin, or weakness. They tend to be minor and can go unnoticed. In more serious cases, anemia would cause heart palpitations, nail beds, pale skin, chest pain, numbness, tiredness, a fast heart rate, or even heart failure. [4]
