Overview
Ventricular tachycardia is a condition in which a very fast heart rhythm starts in the heart’s two lower chambers, known as ventricles. It typically occurs when the electrical system in the heart is malfunctioned. Due to a quick heartbeat, the ventricles do not have sufficient time to fill with blood before each contraction. This causes the heart to operate worse and cannot pump enough blood to other parts of the body. Ventricular tachycardia would happen in several seconds or even longer. People with heart issues, such as cardiomyopathy and coronary artery disease, tend to be at higher risks. In the next sections, we will learn more about common symptoms and causes of ventricular tachycardia.
