Types of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is also the most common subtype, which starts in the B-cells in the lymphatic system. In people with this cancer, large malignant lymphocytes are diffuse in the specimen when seen under the microscope. Around 30 to 40 percent of people with non-Hodgkin lymphoma have diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

In many cases, the earliest sign of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a painless swelling in the groin, armpit, or neck. These tumors may grow quickly in several weeks and spread to other body areas, such as the liver, nasal sinuses, salivary glands, brain, wye, testes, or lungs. Other general signs include unexpected weight loss, night sweats, or fevers. Since this is a high-grade form of cancer, it is important to get quick medical attention as soon as you notice these problems. [3]
