Types of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Burkitt Lymphoma

Burkitt lymphoma is the most aggressive type of lymphoma. It is also one of the fastest-growing form of all cancers. However, Burkitt lymphoma is very rare, which accounts for around 2 percent of all lymphoma cases. The condition begins in mature B-lymphocytes. It tends to be diagnosed in children or young adults, more in males than in females.

Signs and symptoms can vary a lot, depending on the type of Burkitt lymphoma. People with the endemic subtypes tend to have a disfigured or swollen face or jaw, while the sporadic subtypes would cause abdominal pain or swelling. Other possible signs include weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue, fever, night sweats, or swollen lymph nodes. In some cases, the cancer would worsen and spread to the brain and central nervous system, leading to serious neurological problems. [2]
