Inflammatory bowel disease or IBD is typically referred to autoimmune disease which leads to inflammation of your bowels. Two of the most common forms of IBD include ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. A common symptom of this health issue is blood on or in the stool. This is because of your large intestine or rectum bleeds due to the effects of IBD. In more severe cases, you might vomit blood. Initially, a possible treatment for this disease is medication such as immune-modifying agents and steroids. However, most people with inflammatory bowel disease need surgery for better results. [7]
