The 7 Stages of Dementia

Mild Dementia

At the fourth stage, patients with dementia might begin to withdraw from some social activities and demonstrate some considerable changes in their mood and personality. Many denials of signs as a defense mechanism can be commonly noticed in this phase. Some typical behaviors to watch out for include disorientation, trouble remembering people and things, reduced capabilities to deal with financial tasks or planning a trip, trouble remembering their personal history, reduced knowledge of any recent or current events. Due to these problems, these people cannot survive their daily lives without help or support. However, most of them tend to avoid challenging cases in an attempt to hide their condition or prevent anxiety and stress. [4]
