Symptoms of Esophageal Cancer that You Should Know

Rare Symptoms

Some symptoms of esophageal cancer are quite rare, but very typical. They tend to happen when the tumor grows and spread to other parts of the body. These include:

– Shortness of breath: This sign occurs when the tumor invades the chest

– Back pain: In advanced stages, back pain is quite common when cancerous cells spread to the areas between the membranes or between the lungs

– Enlarged lymph nodes: You may notice lumps on the area above the neck or collarbone

– Bone pain or tenderness

– Hiccups: This symptom occurs when the tumor spreads to the diaphragm or phrenic. [8]
