Reye’s Syndrome – Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment

Additional Signs

After the onset of initial symptoms, it often takes 1 or 2 days for the more severe signs to occur. At that time, you would notice some major changes in your mental status. Some problems that Reye’s syndrome might cause when it progresses include extreme tiredness, disorientation, confusion, irrational or aggressive behavior, limb paralysis or weakness, coma, loss of consciousness, or seizure. In addition, some clear signs of changes in mental status can be hallucinations, amnesia, agitation, aggressiveness, as well as progressively reduced consciousness.[2]
