Psoriatic Arthritis Enthesitis: Symptoms, Causes, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention

What is Psoriatic Arthritis Enthesitis?

The entheses are the body parts in which the tendons and ligaments insert into bones. They play an essential role in joint movement by providing support and distributing mechanical forces. In general, the body contains more than 100 entheses. Enthesitis occurs when one or more entheses are inflamed. This is a common feature of psoriatic arthritis, accounting for around 33 percent of the reported cases. Therefore, this can be a good indicator of psoriatic arthritis in many cases. [2]
