Muscle Stiffness

The most frequent symptom in people with polymyalgia rheumatica is muscle stiffness. This means that you would feel it more difficult to move these body parts as usual. In most cases, the condition often affects at least 2 areas, mainly the shoulders, upper arms, thighs, neck, hips, and buttocks. The symptom can be worse after a long period of inactivity or after you wake up in the morning. At first, you can feel stiffness on one side of your body. However, the sensation will spread to the other one when inflammation progresses. This would make it extremely hard to move around and perform some physical tasks in your work. [1]
