Signs and Symptoms of Papular Eczema in Infants
Symptoms of papular eczema in infants are a bit different from those in adults. In general, the rash tends to begin on the scalp or cheeks in infants. However, it can also affect the legs and arms. Sometimes, papules on the skin of children may ooze fluid. Other common symptoms of papular eczema in infants include difficulty sleeping, dry skin, skin that is susceptible to infections, frequent crying, signs of discomfort, as well as rubbing against carpet or bedding to scratch itch. Some parents may mistake eczema for diaper rash. However, keep in mind that babies rarely develop papules under diapers. A pediatrician may help determine the exact cause and suggest proper treatments. [5]
