Oral Psoriasis Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Treatment

Signs of Oral Psoriasis

Symptoms of oral psoriasis may occur periodically. In between these flare-ups, there may be no or little disease activity. People with this condition may notice lesions on their tongue, which would have different colors, from gray and yellowish-white to white. The tongue would become inflamed and red as well due to an acute flare-up. Swallowing or chewing problems may happen as well due to inflammation and pain. In some individuals, there are no other signs, making it quite hard to diagnose oral psoriasis. The symptoms may affect different parts in the mouth or surrounding areas, such as the tongue, lips, gums, and cheeks. [2]
