Progression
When multiple myeloma progresses, patients tend to have more symptoms. The start of treatments and medications would worsen these health issues. Cancerous cells usually weaken your bones and lead to fractures over time. Spinal bones would collapse and damage your spinal cord, thus resulting in numbness or a tingling feeling in your feet or legs. Another effect is the low number of red blood cells. When your body cannot produce sufficiently, anemia is likely to happen and makes you feel extremely weak or tired. In advanced cases, multiple myeloma might also weaken the immune system, thus making you more susceptible to some infections. [5]
