Types of Miscarriage
Depending on the stage of the pregnancy and symptoms, miscarriage can be broken down into the following types:
– Threatened miscarriage: You are bleeding but the cervix has not started to dilate.
– Inevitable miscarriage: You are cramping and bleeding and the cervix has started to dilate.
– Incomplete miscarriage: You pass placental or fetal material but some still remain in the uterus.
– Missed miscarriage: The embryonic and placental tissues are still in the uterus. However, the embryo was not formed or has died.
– Complete miscarriage: You have passed all pregnancy tissues.
– Septic miscarriage: You have an infection in the uterus. [9]
