Main Causes of Narcolepsy

Cataplexy

Cataplexy is an uncontrollable and sudden weakness which occurs through the daytime. It can be caused by a strong emotion like laughter or excitement. Without much warning, you might lose muscle tone and experience total weakness in the trunk, legs, arms, or face. A person with total cataplexy would also experience narcolepsy and stay awake at night. However, this can be a temporary condition and might disappear after a few minutes. [7]
