Overview of Lung Cancer Spreading to Liver
The primary area is the first site of the body where cancer cells are first found. When they spread to other parts, it is known as metastasis. Lung cancer may metastasize to many internal organs, including the liver. Indeed, it is quite common for cancer cells to travel from lungs to liver through the bloodstream or lymphatic system. In small cell lung cancer, this only happens in the extensive stage. In non-small cell lung cancer, this occurs in stage 4.
