Anemia
Hemolytic anemia is another possible cause of jaundice. It happens when red blood cells in your body abnormally break down and lead to the accumulation of bilirubin in the body. Even though most of the signs are quite similar to other forms of anemia, this type can also trigger yellow skin and eyes, as well as other severe complications. People with hemolytic anemia might notice excessive fatigue, chest pain, or shortness of breath. The most common treatment for this condition is steroid therapy and the intake of prescription drugs or medication. [10]
