Iron Deficiency Anemia – Symptoms & Causes

Dry Skin

Damaged and dry skin can be another symptom of iron deficiency anemia. It is caused when there is not sufficient oxygen for all body parts. As a result, the body will carry limited oxygen to essential organs, such as lungs and hearts. When your skin is deprived of oxygen, it would become weak and dry gradually. In more serious cases, you would even experience hair loss. Keep in mind that it is very usual for some hair to fall during daily brushing or washing, but when you lose more than usual, it might be a sign of iron deficiency anemia. [7]
