Loss of Potassium
Many conditions would lead to a loss of potassium and cause hypokalemia. If you experience excessive vomiting or diarrhea, potassium can be ridden with other fluids and affect the overall balance. The same goes for excessive perspiration and some surgical procedures. In the summer, if you have a high level of sweating, it can also be a possible risk factor. Therefore, make sure to consult your healthcare provider as soon as possible to deal with these health issues because they would progress and cause hypokalemia. [8]
