Potassium Test
A potassium test is the simplest way to check for the levels of potassium in the blood. Your doctor will take a small serum sample from any parts of your body and bring it to the lab for further testing. In normal people, the levels of potassium should be from 3.5 to 5.0 mmol/l. When your test result is below 3.5 mmol/l, it can be a sign of hypokalemia. In addition, the test can provide more information about the amounts of other electrolytes, such as phosphorous, magnesium, glucose, and calcium. [13]
