During a colposcopy, the doctor might decide to do a biopsy when he or she finds out some abnormalities. This means a small amount of tissue will be removed from your cervix for further tests in the lab. It would hurt a bit and lead to a pinching sensation or cramp. The results may find out the presence of HPV or precancerous cells associated with this virus. After the biopsy, you would have spotting in the next few days. [5]
