- Dull ache in the abdomen
- Burning pain in the abdomen

- Burping
- Having no appetite
- Weight loss
- Dark stool
The presence of H. pylori is closely associated with chronic gastritis, an inflammatory disorder happening in the gastric mucosa. H. pylori bacteria usually colonize on the mucous layer of the gastric surface. Sometimes they burrow their way to the luminal surface as well, leading to the damage of stomach linings and long-term inflammation in the underlying tissues. Besides chronic gastritis, H. pylori infection increases the risks of having stomach cancer, peptic ulcers, anemia, and insulin resistance. [3]
