Causes of H. Pylori Infection
The exact cause of H. Pylori infection is still unclear. Scientists believe the bacterial transmission from person to person may be correlated to direct or indirect contact with contaminated food, water, vomits, and feces. People in developing countries lacking clean water supply and sanitation services are found with a higher infection rate because they prefer to share utensils and have poor personal hygiene awareness. In addition, H. Pylori bacterium can also be passed down to another person through saliva, like kissing and oral sex. Therefore, maintaining good public sanitation and personal hygiene helps reduce H. Pylori infection. [2]
