Fever Blister – Everything You Need to Know

Symptoms

Many people with fever blisters do not have visible signs. They only know they have the infection when the sores show up. In a primary infection or the first time they appear, symptoms tend to be severe, especially in children. These include sore throat, swallowing difficulties, lip swelling, tongue or mouth pain, lesions on the mouth or tongue, headaches, nausea, dehydration, fever, or swollen glands. After this period, these problems would improve gradually. The virus can stay dormant in the body and trigger recurrences in the future. An infection of the gums and mouth can also happen, which often last in 1 or 2 weeks. [4]
