Causes of Early Disseminated Lyme Disease
The main cause of Lyme disease is the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi. You would contract the bacteria when an infected deer tick or black-legged tick bites you and spreads it. These ticks tend to get the bacteria when they bite deers or mice. With the size of poppy seeds, they tend to be found in hidden spaces, such as the scalp, armpits, and groin. This makes it quite difficult to notice their presence. It often takes around 1 to 2 days for the tick to transmit the bacteria.
