Tularemia
Tularemia is a condition that would affect both people and animals, especially rodents, hares, and rabbits. People can be infected in a few ways. These include deer fly and tick bites, skin contact with an infected animal, lab exposure, or breathing in contaminated chemicals. Signs can vary, depending on the underlying cause. Most cases could be treated with antibiotics, but some people would become life-threatening. To prevent tularemia, you should avoid mowing over any dead animals, wear gloves while handling dead or sick animals, and use insect repellent. [2]
