Bacterial Infection
Areas of rashes caused by chickenpox would get a secondary bacterial infection such as lymphadenitis, erysipelas, cellulitis, furunculosis, and impetigo. They tend to be red, and warm to touch. In some cases, you might notice leaking pus, which can be dark in color. Those infections are mainly superficial and can be treated easily with antibiotics. Keep in mind to inform your doctor about those changes as they could allow bacteria to spread into your bloodstream and cause other serious complications. [4]
