Latex
The powder residue of latex in some rubber products would become airborne and trigger allergies. It can lead to a systemic and respiratory reaction. Possible symptoms include watery eyes, hives, rash, itching, and asthma. The risk is relatively higher in surgical patients and healthcare workers, especially those who have to work in areas with considerable airborne latex allergens, including dental rooms, intensive-care units, and operating rooms. Signs tend to show up and last a few days. [8]
