Eat Right
Eating right has a direct effect on the production of the stress hormone. Consuming sugary food regularly or in a large amount triggers the release of cortisol, and keeps it elevated. Surprisingly, sugar, in a particular stressful instance, may help attenuate the amount of cortisol produced. [6]
To sum it, taken sweet dessert provides excellent comfort, while regular and excessive consumption may lead to elevated cortisol in the long run. More so, certain foods may contribute to improving the cortisol levels – dark chocolate, several fruits (especially pears and bananas), green and black tea, prebiotics and probiotics, and lots of water.
No doubt, we all know that so many health conditions being struggled with could have been avoided with the right nutrition and one of those conditions is elevated cortisol level.
