7 Bladder Cancer Treatments

Intravesical Therapy

With intravesical therapy, your doctors will put a liquid drug into the bladder through. The drug will stay for nearly 2 hours and affect the lining of cancer cells without having significant effects on other body parts. This treatment is often used after TURBT surgery or for treating non-invasive conditions.

In most cases, one dose is enough for a treatment session, which should be done in six consecutive weeks and repeated for another six weeks if necessary. After that, maintenance treatments will be done for 1 to 3 years, depending on your condition. Keep in mind this treatment should be performed with other methods as a complementary option. [4]
