Biventricular Heart Failure
Another type of heart failure is biventricular. As the name implies, it occurs on both the right side and the left side of your heart. This means that the condition will cause the pleural veins to drain into both the pulmonary venous and systemic systems. Several typical symptoms of biventricular heart failure are the reduced breathing sounds around the bases of your lung and dullness around your lung fields. These signs are caused when fluids are backed up and collected between the chest wall and lungs. If people with a right-sided or left-sided heart failure can live long enough, they would progress to the biventricular type. Problems with the left area enable pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary edema to happen, thus increasing pressure on your right area. The same mechanism goes for the other side, but the effects are less harmful. [3]
