Difficulty in Chewing
When ALS sets in and begins to affect nerve cells and muscle movement, one of the body parts that can be affected is the jaw. When you experience difficulty in chewing as a result of ALS, it is most likely because the jaw is not able to function as properly as it used to. Apart from the difficulty in chewing, it is possible also to experience some difficulty in swallowing. When you begin to experience pain in chewing, it will definitely affect how you eat, and if you are not able to eat well, you are at risk of several other medical problems. When you begin to notice that you cannot chew properly, see a doctor immediately. [4]
