Lesions or skin rash

Skin rash or lesions are visible symptoms of lupus. They often appear on both cheeks and the nose bridge has a butterfly-shaped rash. In fact, about half of the people living with these health conditions experience this skin rash. This symptom can appear without warning or after exposure to the sun. In some instances, the rash may appear just before a sudden outbreak.

Lupus may lead to non-itchy lesions in a certain body area. However, rare cases this symptom may lead to hives. Several people with lupus are very sensitive to sunlight, including artificial lighting. Also, some people may notice discoloration in the toes and fingers.
