Anxiety
Pheochromocytoma causes the body to produce high levels of catecholamines. These substances are strong hormones linked to stress. In addition, this condition can lead to an adrenaline rush, which usually occurs in stressful or dangerous situations. That’s why people with this disease can feel anxious sometimes. Anxiety is also linked to the excessive production of other compounds, including dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine.[8]
