Pale Skin
Paleness is usually one of the first things that a healthcare provider would look for as an indication of anemia. People with this condition, especially in moderate or severe cases, tend to have skin that is paler than normal. In addition, the inside of their lower eyelids may have a pale color. Both are very common symptoms of iron deficiency in anemia. It is mainly because the haemoglobin is responsible for the red color in blood. When the body does not get enough iron, it reduces the number of haemoglobin cells, thus making the blood less red. Therefore, your skin would lose its typical tone. Studies have shown that paleness linked to anemia would affect one or multiple areas of the body, such as the nails, gums, face, and inside of the lower eyelids or lips. [5]
