Vasopressors are medications that are often used for treating low blood pressure. People with sepsis often have a high level of blood pressure, which can increase the risk of many life-threatening symptoms. Thus, these drugs can be effective in alleviating the condition. The two most common kinds of vasopressors for this task include norepinephrine and dopamine. Both of them are neurotransmitters that can be found naturally in the brain.
