Obesity
The quantity of blood being pumped by the heart is directly related to the weight of a person; when you weigh more, the heart has to work more to pump sufficient blood to supply oxygen to the tissues. Additionally, when there is too much fat, it tends to put pressure on blood vessels, and this can lead to hypertension. This doesn’t mean people who are not overweight are not at risk of high blood pressure; people who are overweight are just more susceptible. [5]
