Environmental Asbestos Exposure
Asbestos can be found in many large mineral deposits. They often exist in mountainous or hilly areas. Those people who live around these regions can be at a high risk of exposure to harmful substances, which can naturally release from the ground. More seriously, asbestos may mix with underground water sources. This subsequently contaminates drinking supplies and residential wells. Asbestos can also penetrate water bodies and then travel or evaporate as airborne fibers. Any surrounding residential areas can be at risk of mesothelioma cancer. [2]
