Stages of Breast Cancer
Based on the size and area of the tumor, breast cancer could be divided into 5 different stages, ranging from 0 to 4. To determine the stage you are in, your doctor needs to know the form of your cancer, the measurements of the tumor, and the involvement of the lymph nodes. Those cases with large and invasive tumors that have spread to nearby organs and tissues are typically at higher stages that those with small and contained tumors. Many tests need to be done to figure out the current stage of your breast cancer and determine the most suitable treatment plan. [6]
