Also known as clot busters or fibrinolytic, thrombolytic drugs are powerful options which are often given intravenously to help dissolve blood clots in the leg. In most cases, their usage is limited to those people who want to prevent permanent damages in the tissues. It can be tricky to take these drugs since they might have substantial risks of some bleeding complications. But if used correctly, they can prevent a stroke or heart attack.
