What Is Inflammation?

Inflammation is the response of the body against anything that may do harm, such as toxins, injuries, or injections. This procedure is an attempt of the immune system to heal the body when a cell damage occurs. Some changes may occur, such as an increase of blood flow to the affected area and the release of more proteins and antibodies. There are two types of inflammation:

– Acute inflammation tends to lasts for several hours to several days. It is an important mechanism of the body to protect against a cold or injury.

– Chronic inflammation occurs when the response persists for the whole life. This would eventually increase the risk of certain chronic diseases. [1]
