Xeomin vs. Botox – Similarities, Differences, Uses & More

Similarities between Botox and Xeomin

In general, both Botox and Xeomin are made with botulinum toxin type A. That’s why both products work in a similar mechanism by having a temporary effect and relaxing several muscles in the injected part of the body. They may start working within one week after the injection. In addition, their results would last anywhere from 3 to 6 months before a follow-up injection should be done. Nevertheless, in spite of these similarities, it is not recommended to use Botox and Xeomin interchangeably. There are still certain differences that you need to know. Consult your dermatologist or healthcare provider to determine which option is more suitable for your aesthetic needs or medical conditions. [3]
